What to expect when you book:
Hot air balloons are completely weather dependent. We choose to fly right at sunrise or two to three hours before sunset when the winds are typically at their calmest. In the summer we only do morning flights due to higher temperatures. If you have booked a flight with us and the weather is not looking safe for that day, we will book you for another day and go from there! Safety is our number one priority and we will wait for the best weather for you to have a safe and enjoyable flight!
What to wear:
Dress according to the general temperature. We do ask that you try to wear closed toed shoes and long pants. We never know where we are going to land and sometimes the beautiful fields we choose can be little rough on bare legs and feet! Dresses and skirts are not recommended, getting in and out of the basket can be a little tricky with this attire!
How long will it take?:
Between your arrival time and finishing up our champagne celebration you should expect to be with us about 3 hours. We will have you arrive at our take-off destination. We will brief you on all the operations and safety measures of our flight, as well as have you sign a waiver. Then we will begin setting up the balloon to take flight. After that you climb into the basket and start your adventure! The flight will be anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours. It's the pilots discretion to land when he feels he has found the best landing option for the flight. The chase crew will follow along to your landing destination and help to pack up the balloon and return you to the field where you took off. Then we will have a small celebration with snacks, champagne (or sparkling cider if requested), and sharing a few stories and a balloonist prayer! Hopefully we will leave you with an amazing experience to tell family and friends!
After your flight we would love to celebrate with you! We will have a few snacks and mimosas while your pilot gets to tell you the fascinating story of how ballooning all got started. Then we will share a toast to the Balloonist's prayer that is said all over the world!
